Frequently Asked Questions

Live Timing

Why isn't the live timing updating?
Live timing is only available during an active Formula 1 session (Practice, Qualifying, Sprint, or Race). Outside of session times the timing screen will show the latest available data. If a session is live and you're not seeing updates, try pulling down on the timing list to reconnect, or force-quit and reopen the app.
The app shows "Connecting…" but never connects.
Check that your device has an active internet connection. The live timing stream requires a stable connection — Wi-Fi is recommended. If you're on cellular, make sure Lap Times has permission to use mobile data in Settings → Lap Times → Mobile Data. If the issue persists, the timing server may be temporarily unavailable; the app will reconnect automatically once it's back.
How accurate is the live timing data?
Lap Times streams data from the official F1 timing feed via server-sent events (SSE), so data is delivered with sub-second latency. The data reflects what the official timing system publishes — occasional brief delays can occur during high-traffic moments at race start or after safety car restarts.

Race Calendar

The race schedule shows the wrong time for my timezone.
Lap Times automatically converts all session times to your device's local timezone. If the times look incorrect, check that your device timezone is set correctly in Settings → General → Date & Time and that "Set Automatically" is enabled.
Results for a past session aren't showing.
After a session ends, results are typically published within a few minutes. Pull down on the Races screen to manually refresh. If results still aren't appearing after 15 minutes, please let us know.

App & Settings

How do I change the app icon?
Open the app and tap the ⚙️ gear icon in the top-right corner of the Races screen to open Settings. Scroll to the "App Icon" section and tap any of the four icons (Default, Senna, Velocity, Midnight) to apply it.
How do I set my favourite driver or team?
In Settings (⚙️), scroll to the "Preferences" section. Tap "Favourite Driver" or "Favourite Constructor" to select from the full list. Your selection will be highlighted throughout the app — in standings, timing rows, and more.
Does Lap Times require an account or subscription?
No. Lap Times does not require you to create an account. All your preferences are stored locally on your device. The app is free to download with no subscription required for core features.
How do I delete all my app data?
Simply uninstall Lap Times from your device. All locally stored preferences and cached data are removed when you delete the app. We don't store any of your data on our servers.
