Lap Times ("we", "our", or "us") is an iOS application that provides Formula 1 live timing, race results, standings, and analytics. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

Information We Collect
Lap Times is designed to be private by default. We collect as little information as possible.
Information stored on your device (never sent to us):
- Your preferred driver and team selections
- Your chosen app icon
- Season and display preferences
- Cached race data for offline use
Information we do not collect:
- No account or registration is required
- No name, email address, or personal identifiers
- No location data
- No contacts or device permissions beyond what is necessary
- No advertising identifiers
Live Timing & Race Data
Lap Times connects to a live timing server to stream Formula 1 session data. This connection is established when you open a live session. The app sends a standard HTTP request to receive data — no personal information is included in this request beyond what your device's network stack provides (e.g., an IP address to establish the connection).
We do not log, store, or analyse individual user connections on our server.
Crash Reports & Diagnostics
The app may use Apple's built-in crash reporting (if you have opted in via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements). Any crash data sent to us through Apple's platform is anonymised and contains no personally identifiable information. We use this solely to fix bugs and improve stability.
We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs.
Third-Party Services
Lap Times uses the following third-party data sources:
- Formula 1 timing feed — used to deliver live session data. Lap Times is not affiliated with Formula 1 or the FIA.
- Apple App Store & StoreKit — for app distribution. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data Retention & Deletion
All preferences and cached data are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling Lap Times from your device. We do not retain any data on our servers that is tied to you personally.
Children's Privacy
Lap Times does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require any registration or personal data submission from any user, regardless of age.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
